The BLVD to Beach Community Bike Ride was held this past April 8th! Nearly 60 Community members enjoyed a coastal bike ride on a beautiful Sunday morning!
Community members met at Pepper Park in National City and rode all the way to Silver Strand State Beach.

In this new film, see our route from City Heights to Southeast San Diego to Chicano Park and all the way to the bay at Cesar Chavez Park Pier. The energy of the group was palpable as over 60 community members of many ages and backgrounds came together to ride—even the near 90 degree heat couldn’t bring us down.
Juneteenth: Not Just a Commemoration But A Call To Action
Today, we stand together in unity to honor and celebrate Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. It marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom – a full two and half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
