Ponce’s Parking Lot Café: Reinventing Public Space to Serve Communities
Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant was founded by Ponce Meza Sr, in 1969. Ownership was later passed down to his children, Ponce Meza Jr. and Rocio Meza who redesigned the restaurant, incorporating a bar and adding modern amenities.
Super Cocina Reinvents Parking Lot to Bring “Eyes on the Street”
Juan Pablo thinks current attitudes around parking are changing among both customers and businesses owners who are now enjoying the benefits brought by additional outdoor seating: eyes on the street, crime reduction, and a safer inviting space.
More Affordable Transit Coming to San Diego!
A huge thank you to Community residents who attended 3 MTS public meetings in March 2021 and voiced opposition on fare adjustment scenarios that suggested fare increases. These fare increases would have come only 2 years after MTS's previous fare increase, placing additional financial burden on transit riders.
