Exploring Anti-Displacement Strategies Event

Concerned about displacement, the housing crisis, and gentrification?

Hear from experts this Wednesday, November 17th for an exploration of anti-displacement strategies!

Hosted by City Heights CDC and the SR-15 Transportation Equity & Affordable Housing Task Force, we'll hear clear, concrete ways we can help keep neighbors from being displaced from their homes.

The event will feature a presentation and interactive Q&A from anti-displacement experts Dr. Anastasia Loukaitou-Sideris (Distinguished Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at UCLA) and Dr. Karen Chapple (Professor Emerita of City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley). They co-authored the book "Transit-Oriented Displacement or Community Dividends? Understanding the Effects of Smarter Growth on Communities," an examination of neighborhood transformation, gentrification and displacement that accompany transit-oriented development.

Drs. Chapple and Loukaitou-Sideris will guide us through different kinds of anti-displacement policy and their effectiveness, allowing us to better understand what’s within the realm of possibility for anti-displacement strategy.

Hope to see you this Wednesday at 5pm!
