Transportation Justice Victory: Acheived!

Our community is celebrating a major transportation justice victory! Today, the MTS Board approved the reduction of Youth one-way fares from $2.50 to $1.25, approved the new fare system “PRONTO” that automatically give riders the best allowable fare, approved a no-cost transfer, and approved our asks without raising any fares.

Shout out to our fellow San Diego Transportation Equity Working Group members @midcitycan, @ehcsandiego, @sandiego350, @cpisandiego who continue to work with us and uplift the voices of transit riders in environmental justice communities, like Barrio Logan and City Heights. Special shout-out to community leaders, like the Built Environment Team, who continue to push for no-cost transit passes, especially for those aged 24 and under.
