CITY HEIGHTS COVID-19 RESOURCE GUIDE

Need medical care? Food? At risk of eviction? Check the resources below to get help in your area.

  • The One Month Away eviction prevention program this community helped us launch at the end of last year is more critical than ever! As more families lose income and are at risk of eviction, you can help us keep them in their homes as they weather this storm. Contact us for more info or donate here to help.

  • San Diego Gas & Electric announced they are suspending disconnections for nonpayment! If you are struggling to pay your SDG&E bill, please call their Customer Contact Center at 1.800.411.7343 and they can help you make payment arrangements that work for you. They are also temporarily waiving late payment fees for business customers affected by the virus and will postpone all non-critical planned outages, and they’ve also donated $1 million to support programs and organizations as they address the growing effects of this outbreak. A big thank you to these partners!

  • The 211 Hotline is available for questions about the COVID-19 virus. Simply dial 2-1-1 or visit their website here.

  • San Diego Unified School District Food & Nutrition Services will be hosting a drive thru / walk-up distribution of daily prepared meals, free of charge. Find more info here. • Kitchens for Good announced they plan to prepare over 40k meals to be delivered through the San Diego Food Bank in the coming months. Check SD Food Bank’s site here for more info.

  • Scripps Medical has launched a nurse line dedicated to COVID-19. See more here, or call this number to get medical advice: 888-261-8431

  • San Diego Gas & Electric announced they will not be shutting off any amenities during the COVID crisis. See more here.

Facing homelessness? Here are a few resources:

  • San Diego Housing Commission’s ‘City Bridge Shelters’ will remain open. Info here.

  • Father Joe’s Villages is open. See their hours and info here.

  • The San Diego Housing Federation has a resource guide for affordable housing during COVID here.

What we’re doing:

  • Eviction Moratorium. Evictions are a huge concern as COVID-19 spreads. Working families often live month-to-month, paycheck-to-paycheck to survive, and losing even one month’s salary can mean homelessness for thousands of renters. This is why we’re calling on Council President Gomez and the City of San Diego to put a freeze on evictions during this crisis.

Read more of our statement on Facebook here.

  • Our Property Management/Resident Services will continue to serve our residents, but will be moving to a by appointment only basis, and using telephone and email communications wherever possible. The emergency food pantry at Hollywood Palms will continue to distribute food on an appointment only basis as well. We appreciate patience as we work to keep our community of City Heights healthy!

What did we miss? There are so many great people doing great work out there, so let us know in the comments below!
