Applications open for the 2026 City Heights CDC Champion Scholars Scholarship
The 2026 Champion Scholars Scholarship supports San Diego students entering or currently enrolled in college or trade school and are committed to their education, leadership, and community. Selected scholars receive financial support, mentorship, and recognition at our annual community celebration.
To apply, download the application below and complete it digitally or by hand. Submit all required materials as one PDF to residentservices@cityheightscdc.org. Include “Attn: City Heights CDC Community Development Champion Committee” in the subject line.

Empowering Local Scholars and Leaders
Teng attends UC San Diego, where she studies Chemistry. Raised in Cambodia, she is a first-generation student who has worked hard to learn English while navigating school, work, and life responsibilities.
2024 Champion Scholar
Karla attends San Diego City College, where she studies Public Administration. She is a local advocate for neighborhood improvements and youth-led initiatives.

Mohamed attends San Diego State University, where he studies Criminal Justice. He is a first-generation student and advocates for leadership opportunities for youth in Southeast San Diego.
