Mid-City MOVES! Coalition
The Coalition has been instrumental in a number of significant transit improvements in City Heights over the past year including:
- SR15 Working Group formed
- Candidates’ Forum introduced City Heights candidates to community transit issues particularly concerning the SR15
- Residents spoke at MTS Board Meeting about service cuts and fare increases (particularly the 965 route)
- Bike Racks Ribbon Cutting – celebrating installation of new bike racks in City Heights
- Walk San Diego Awards Banquet honoring Principal of Mary Lanyon Faye, a CHCDC partner for her work on getting traffic calming devices installed at her school
The City Heights CDC and Walk SD collaborated with City Heights Elementary School communities to develop this report which details traffic threats that pose a safety danger to kids who walk and bike to school. The report identifies problem areas where conflicts have occurred, while developing community-based solutions to those problems.
